Is advertising good for adsense?

I was thinking about creating some ads to my adsense sites specially to those where Im getting more money . But I read that some people were banned from adsense when they got too many visitors in 1 day. For example :

Your website is getting around 300 - 500 visitors daily , you do some advertising on facebook and stumbleupon and all of a sudden you get 2000 visitors in one day wouldn't it be a risk.

    Adsense won't ban you even if you receive a million visitors a day rather they will cherish you.

    You'll only get banned if your traffic is illegal or do something against their TOS.

    Buying traffic has to be seriously considered and the source too. Normally, it won't be worth it due to the cost and the target too.

    You are better off paying for SEO services to rank your site.

    Google wont mind as long as you follow their TOS and they wouldbe considered as referral traffic, which is fine with them. But i highly doubt that will have a positive ROI. Do remember that every member visiting your site from facebook/stumbleupon wont click on your ads and your income will depend on the CTR. IMO it wont be a good idea.
