PopUp Opt Ins - Emails - Bad for SEO?

Hey boys,
I am getting now almost 300 uniques per day and like to start listbuilding. Been trying some usual sign up things for the widget but I feel like I get higher conversions with those Pop Ups like PopUp Domination etc.
Read somewhere that it's bad for google rankings tho, anyone has experience with this?

Cheers!

    I don't think pop-ups are against Google's guidelines.

There is another thread is going almost on similar topic - Hope answers there may help you more, http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...e-ranking.html

I have been using Popup Domination for 3 months now on one of my sites that receives around 150k visits a month from Google and I haven't seen any negative effect.

There's no evidence that pop-ups affect SEO but they are annoying. You don't need pop-ups to build a list. Just put an opt-in box on your sidebar widget with a nice picture of your eBook, DVD course etc. You'll get good CTRs.

    Hey!

Pop-up haven't made much of a difference for us. We have been able to rank a site really while despite it having a simple pop-up upon the visitor's entrance.

Although avoid over complicating plug-ins, sometimes they try to make it more "SEO friendly" only to make your site suspicious. Id' suggest you read some of the reviews on the plug-ins or popups you want to get and see what the comments say (if there's an issue it'll generally be outlined after a couple reviews)

I haven't noticed pop ups making it harder to rank sites personally
