What does google consider as blackhat?

So, I'm having this discussion with my friend about what google think is blackhat and what it dosent. Basiclly what I am saying is that in googles eyes any paid backlink service is blackhat but he says blackhat is only when you send a bomb of backlinks to your website in a few days.

What do you guys think?

    It depends, you can send a ton of backlinks to your site, but don't mean you will get penalized, I got sites where I never been penalized and I blasted them with links, some of them where test sites to see how much I had to do to get penalized, some got hit and some didn't.

    I would think the typical launch jacking style of a site it won't matter if you get penalized in a few months, so you can just build links like crazy until the buzz of the launch is over, however I would keep those sites on a unique IP.

    google don't like people trying to rank them self, so any tactic that will help you do that can be considered black hat, they like to rank you naturally.

    i think making backlinks yourself in itself is blackhat

    too many backlinks will get u penalized too

    If you are using SEO tools to build backlinks, this will also considered as black hat technique by Google. Backlinks should come from natural way.

      I would say it like this: If you use SEO tools and let them build backlinks for you! you could use good SEO tools, but do the work manually!

        Technically still considered blackhat. Or, at the very least, greyhat.

        Google would love for us to create "great" content and let the links flow to us naturally.

    Black Hat Links (technically) are links you make for the sole purpose of ranking it higher.

    What Google considers to be blackhat, and what is TRUE blackhat techniques, are VERY different things.

    However, nobody REALLY knows what Google thinks about anything unless they work there or if they know someone who does.

    Hell, I doubt Cutts even knows what is & isn't blackhat.. hahaha :p

      LMFAO, just thinking of the video where he basically said if someone does negative SEO on your site, it might actually help it.

    You got the point!

    The same way, if you are buying links from website where lots of people are also buying then "bomb" is applied here...

    You can buy links where others are not buying and Google may not be able to track as well.
