.EDU & .GOV Redirect Backlinks

Anyone ever seen these advertised? Seems to me like they would be useless as far as counting for a link. Am I wrong?

Here is the quote from someone who advertised .edu & .gov links. "These redirected links from exit pages will be made from .gov and .edu sites whose homepage PR is PR7, PR8 and PR9."

What are your thoughts?

      They are not offering real .edu or .gov links, but most likely
      some country TLD with that crap. People are just conned
      into such nonsense.

      Besides, a .gov or.edu link is not more valuable than
      comparable link on any other domain, TLD not included here.

      In fact, I just thought of something very funny.

      Government, local and state, were using .us way back when,
      and many still do. So, where are all those who say .us is so
      great?!?!?!?

        I am willing to bet there are people who are saying .com / .edu / .gov are better then a .us TLD.
