going after super high-competition niches

ok so I had an idea last night that Im sure has been done or thought of before but cant find any information on it so im hoping someone can help me out.

So everyone knows that targeting double digits cpc keywords is next to impossible to rank easily for... but then I thought about something... I can effectively drive decent traffic to pretty much any link that I put on facebook for a day or 2. What prevents me from basically saying "Screw you Google" and putting up a site within a hyper-competitive set of keywords, throwing adsense on it,. and driving traffic with facebook? Wouldnt this alleviate the challenge of ranking (and therefore getting traffic) to a site in this niche?

I know FB traffic is temporary and is only good for as long as you're keeping your links in FB fresh, but ive had no issues driving 300-400 UVs to a page by posting a link on FB and have gotten a handful of clicks each time I do (in other niches)...typically that doesnt make much $ in adsense because the cpc is much lower and the traffic isnt high volume....but if Im targeting a really high CPC keyword...wouldnt the $ value of the ad make up for the lack click volume?

If this strategy is sound, how would I make sure that adense is showing ads that come close to the average cpc shown in the adwords tool and not random, low cpc ads?
