I've never really had success with Pinterest. Unless you can build a strong following of followers, you're gunna find it difficult with the thousands of bots scraping and posting each day.. It's like trying to get somewhere with Twitter.. An absolute nightmare.

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

It depends on the niche. If you have some women related site, it can be a great traffic source. If you are into some other niche - it's useless for traffic.

I currently have only one profile that I'm promoting once a week or so, and it has trusted PR2 do-follow backlink, which is definitely helpful to the site. Also, I'm using IFTTT to update my Tumblr account with Pinterest images.

    That's how I use it.

You will need to join many large group boards and post to them regularly. Can also try to start a couple of group boards of your own.

I just made a profile there for my client, but never used it before. I actually loved it! It seems like such a cool idea! For internet marketing I have no idea how to use it, but for personal, heck ya!

It drives good traffic for one of my websites. I just pin all images and add descriptions. It's simple.

I tried using Pinterest myself once however I could never really get the hang of it to be honest with using it to help my website. I have seem many people who have been very successful though and it seems like as long as you create good, unique and solid content on your website and then link it to Pinterest with your own images and you have the followers that will repin you should see some decent traffic from there.

Posting to relevant group boards may help.

the best which i do and which works for everyone is finding good group boards related to your niche and then requesting the owners to accept you as contributor once you are there then start regular pinning and don't just over promote, do it slowly and regularly and you will see massive surge of traffic
