"Saving" a crappy page that is two years old

I have an Exact Match Domain that is a fair keyword phrase for my niche. I put up a short and sweet page a couple of years ago. Not more than a few sentences smattered with other key phrases. I have now moved it to another registrar and host and wish to build the site. Should I keep the old copy? If so, must I keep the same html code, in general? Does it even matter? I don't think the site as it is now ranks for that phrase or any phrase, really.

You answered your own question. Rebuild it.
