Does your domain name affect your rankings in google?
If it does, would it be more useful having the keyword typed as a single word or separate.

For example:
makemoneyonline.com

compared with

make-money-online.com?

I believe so, however, the dashes won't really make a difference, but it will help a bit to optimize for those keywords. Think of it like a permanent on page keyword optimization.

In my opinion, I still prefer branding over keywords for the domain.

Yes, domain relevance is important for SEO. Dashes doesn't hurt in SEO but they are hard to remember which can impact your direct traffic.

Yea dashes can hurt your direct traffic, but on the upside they help your bookmarking rate because people don't want to have to remember it

Question, is it better to organize/optimize a specific domain name with keywords and adwords campaigns. Or are we better off keeping one site and optimizing around that one site with different keywords. I thought a different domain that is specific to a keyword would make my adwords campaigns more efficient? Also, do I loose the SEO juice I am building on the main site if I now send adwords traffic to my other sites?

If you are looking for quick wins, on long tail terms, then sure it is relevant. However, it is nowhere near as important as it used to be on Google, unless it is for a specific brand. Yahoo however, most certainly takes that it to account.
