IS MY MY WEBMASTER TOOL WRONG OR WHAT

the key word am backlinking to when i checked on webmaster tool it shows that am in position #12 but when doing a search to look for my site with the particular keyword i could not find my site even upto the fouth page. does this mean that webmaster tool is wrong

    I have one website in GWT that
    it shows me ranking for great money keywords,
    but
    it
    is
    all
    a
    lie
    (I've noticed that regardless of rank indicated by GWT, if the IMPRESSIONS column isn't indicating a high count, you can assume GWT is wrong/confused/lying)

    same situation is with me and almost for all sites
    So I don't care about Google webmaster this feature.

    You Webmasters aint broke but you keyboard seems to be tuck on CAPS. That could be causing Webmasters to bug out on you.

    Webmaster tools is typically an average of the last 30 days. If your site is fairly new or going through fluctuations, you can have been ranked nicely for the last 3-4 weeks, but dropped off the SERP results because of something like penguin. Look at the last few days for the keyword in webmaster tools. Do your impressions drop significantly or are they close to zero?
