Question about outsourcing article writing

Hi everyone,

After running a few sites, I am swamped with work and I just don't have the time to do the things I want to do. I need to outsource article writing, but I have one question for those who already do this - how accurate is the content? By this I mean how are you sure they're not writing garbage?

For example, say I want to write about medical insurance. I could outsource some work to write about the different medical insurance companies and what they offer so I can compare them. How can I be sure what they are writing is true without checking myself? I don't want to have to check everything, otherwise I may as well do it myself, but I don't want to add a load of nonsense to the site.

    You need to check out how good the writer is. You can check out their website, see what others say about them, etc. In the end, you have to choose someone who you believe will give you what you want.

    Insurance is not an easy subject. Laurence has good advice. Check out the writer's website.

    Check out some sample content pieces, talk to the writer, try using them for one piece, check it yourself and if you're satisfied, that's great. Sometimes it takes going through a few writers to get one who is a good fit for your business.

    I think you got good advice, I too have the same sugesstion for you. Just check their sample work first and check out their site blog or anything where some users have given reviews or comments about their work.

    Just depends on which writer you get. I used to write on fiverr so I know that there are good writers out there. On what ever subject I was given, I would find some similar articles, jot down notes on the most important points, then write the article based around the notes.

    If you look for writers on fiverr just check their reviews and look for ones where people state how good the writing was. There is a very big difference between those who write the bare minimum and those who write to engage the reader.

    Most serious professional content writers will not give you garbage. And whatever you will post on your site has to be checked by you finally. Even if the info is correct, you might want to change the style. Basically, there are a lot of factors.

    Clear instructions and proper communication is the key. Of course what you want to pay is also important. You get what you pay.

    Freelance sites like freelancer.com is good place for finding writers... you should go with good feedback freelancers for better work.

    I recommend using Amazon Turks. I'm not sure why this is but there are a huge pool of quality writers who don't charge an arm and a leg. I have been using it for years and haven't really used anywhere else.

    One thing I'll share is that you should have the Workers EMAIL you the finished article instead of just submitting it directly through MTurk. Then you have their email if you like their writing and want to give them some assignments in the future.

    Always ask for samples that you can check before hiring. Another thing you can do is to look for writers who specialize in certain niches or have a strong background knowledge about the topic. They'll cost a little more but at least you'll be sure that they know what they're talking about. They'll be faster because they're familiar about the topic, and they'll be better at finding fresh angles and topics.

    This is very easy, you have them write one or two example articles first. 90% of writers, ESPECIALLY on so called "free-lancer" sites are delivering garbage. Likely, you will also get what you pay for. If you go on "freelancer sites" where 90% of "writers" are from the Philippines where writing is done only for "the writing's sake", how high are the chances you will really get quality content back, in particular if some is only paying, say, $4 or so per article? There is a reason why people say that SHOULD you find such a cheap writer who in fact will deliver quality content "cheap"...to do everything you can to keep them and not anyone to tell about it. Anyway, it's a trial and error thing and it might take time til you find "your" good writer.

    The best and only thing you can do is to check the author's past jobs. If you can't find their work anywhere, you can email them and ask for a sample. If they don't have that either, order one article from them and then make up your own mind if they are worth it or not.

    Experience is the best way to go and ordering at least 1 article from someone will tell you if they have good and high quality articles or not.
