Redirecting an entire site

Hi all

Just after a quick bit of advice, I have 2 sites that both pretty much do the same thing but I've decided to get rid of 1 as the traffic has really dropped off recently.

I want to redirect the URL for the site to my other site so nobody can access it at all, what's the quickest way of doing this? And more importantly would the backlink juice from the site I'm redirecting from point to the other site?

Thanks

    Simplest ans quickest, add

    redirect 301 / http://www.newdomain.com/

    to your .htaccess file.

A better way is to use rewrite rules to redirect as many pages from the old site to the equivalent page on the new site.
