Using "SITE:" to find if your site is indexed

Wow, what a revelation. I have been going crazy for about three weeks trying to determine if my site is indexed. Could never get much at all no matter how I styled the search and if I got anything, it was not definitive at all. I stumbled upon the solution, trying this and that with my search string and found out it is definitely indexed.

Apparently, there cannot be a space after the colon. It must be...

site:domain.com
