Is it important that each domain be registered by a different name, I have been told to host each site on different ips but wonder about the name the site is registered to.

    You use Private Domain Registration. You have to use a real name with domains for legal reasons but that will block the info from being revealed.

    You can also choose to build a blog network on existing Web 2.0 sites like Blogger, Jux and Tumblr. There are hundreds of free blog sites out there that are hosted on different domains. You could use those to supplement any blogs you have on your own host space.
