I have just change my site DNS and traffic was as usual.

Then suddenly after 24 hours my traffic drop to almost non existing when it is usually high at that particular time at G.analytics.

I check my rankings and I am also not at my SWEET usual ranking spot..

Ah! Is this natural for rankings to fluctuate after DNS change?

You've just answered your own question.

Did you have any outages during the transition?

Absolutely no outage as I had backups and the site was never offline not even for a sec.
My other friend is saying that it will be normal again. I am currently making some $ with the traffic but this is such a let down now with the drop in ranks. I hope it clears up in a day or two.

No matter what, I have never had zero downtime when changing a
            DNS.

You mention traffic in the title, but then switch to rankings.

Traffic would probably drop. Servers are rerouted all over the
world, so a change could go south. But then, you say traffic
            was the same.

Rankings, at least right away, would not be affected.

Unless, there was something else in tandem with the DNS change.
Did you change hosts? Not all hosts and servers will replicate a site's
internal workings. And that could affect rankings, and perhaps kick
in 24 hours later as the dust settles.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

I mean to say that just after DNS change to ipage everything was normal ( rankings and traffics)
It all started downwards after 24 hours. Only one keywords is on no.8 ( it was no.1 earlier) and the others I can't even see them on 2nd or even 3rd page.

Around 80% of my site traffic is organic and now I am getting only 10% of that traffic. I even thought that my site was de-indexed at first. But fortunately , no.

I have webmaster tools and everything looks ok! Does your rankings go up and down for few days. My site is also quite new.

Again, is it your rankings or your traffic?
DNS changes aren't instantaneous. The traffic could still be going to the old server and the analytics is reading the traffic from the new server or vice-versa.

Seems to me that the Google dance is responsible for the traffic drop and not the DNS change.
