So I have a site about cell phones that usually makes me around $15-$30 per month in adsense.
So far this year the monthly unique IP's to visit the site has been 2200-3000 per month as well.
However, so far this month I have seen some very strange stats for both revenue and unique IP visits.
On May 1-3 I saw around 100 visits per day. Then on May 4th it ramped all the way up to 999 visitors and then on May 5th I got a huge increase to 3248 in one day! This day of course brought me a huge earnings of $180!
The May 4th earnings were also huge at almost $70. However, May 6th saw my earnings go back to a little above normal at $2. And even more unusual is the stats I got for May 6th saw just 19 visitors.
What the heck is going on? I did find that my site got a huge bump in the yahoo search results for a keyword term I was not previously ranking on the first page for. Now I'm top 5.
Any thoughts on what the heck happened?
