Hi Guys,

I am currently looking for a reliable SEO software (Penguin compliant) that will allow me to do keyword research/analysis, link building, site analysis, checks on competitors etc.

Also will allow me to provide clients with less cluttered and informative results. I have done some google search but coming across numerous reviews and products that cost the earth is simply driving me bonkers. I really don't know which one to pick, which one really work and don't have a crazy budget to buy a software that cost so much.

Can you guys kindly recommend reliable programs that will get the job done very well for potential clients. I have been making a decent living off SEO work by simply being a middleman but I want to start handling business by myself.

Many Thanks

I have spent the last three years dealing with SEO and trying to rank sites. I bought every type of SEO software there is. Let me remind you I retired Google at a young age.

    This is what I found:

Ranking is easy if you do the following SILO mixed with LSO. You might ask what is SILO - That is the way you lay out a site. It is object oriented from macro to micro. Think Meat - Angus - Steak or Car - Ford - Focus - Automatic - 4 door - Red - Likewise you could do Car - 4 door - automatic - red - ford - focus. To better figure this out, you will need to investigate how others organize data. I would first look at google. Google has all this data in silos. It is organized in various ways. Lets see how Google organizes this SILO data.

    Example: Colour: Red
    NumberOfDoors: 2
    NumberOfWheels: 4
    TopSpeed: 60mph

This is a type of silo design. Each design is handled differently from site to site. Kelly Blue Book design is Year Make Model then its goes into specifics of each model. What I have found in a silo design is this rule:

The top 3 silo categories rarely drive traffic due to competition but after Year make model - color - engine - interior ..... These are areas that I get massive traffic.

Ok Getting massive traffic how do I get that. I hired a company to do this work call LSO TRAFFIC - they trained me too and gave me the software I use. It was not cheap but I have already made 50 times what I paid them. I have first page result all over the web but how?

That is the secret. What LSO Traffic taught me was in front of my face all along it called latent semantic optimization. It is how google kills bing in search. Your content on the part of the silo you should be driving search is where you deploy the LSO!

It rather simple and Matt Cutts talks about it in the Videos alot. I drive traffic to the silo from the web based upon Googles approval of my content in the LSO world. It all very complicated but so simple. it is linguistics and if your hiring a person from another country, Google will know that by the linguistics they use. Just like the way you can pick up an accent from someone you talk too.....Google can by the data you project from your site.

Google can understand all of this and I seen the LSO software work in action by picking apart sites and ranking them nearly the same as google. LSO is a reverse search engine ranking tool.

    Hey ampeculiar,

Any objection to doing it "the old fashioned way" with:

    - Google Keyword tool
    - OpenSiteExplorer.org (sign up for free account)
    - Majestic SEO (free)

The price is good (free) and with some research you can learn to use each to get all the intelligence you need.

I don't know of a software that does all that. Here is what I use and can recommend.

I use GKT and Trafic Travis (free version) for keyword research.

For Backlinks I use Social Monkey (Free Version), and Backlink Deamon ($49 a Month)

For research I use Majestic SEO and SEM Rush both free versions

Hope that helps. Looking forward to someone posting a tool that I haven't seen yet that does the things you ask.

Thanks for your comment. I normally use Google Keyword Tool but know there are better tools out there to achieve much detailed keyword research.

I will look into the other tools you highlighted.

      Many Thanks

I think after this latest Penguin Update try to work manually instead of any software.

Very insightful, I've been thinking about the working manually but simply wondering how much work can be done manually.

      Regards

Pretty much actually. Remember, quality beats quantity.

Let's say you manage to get a 5 quality links per day by doing stuff manually. With software you can get .. what, maybe 500.

        5 quality links > 500 software links.

    - Keyword Research: Long Tail Pro, Micro Niche Finder or Market Samurai.
    - Link Building: SEnuke XCR or Magic Submitter + GSA Search Engine Ranker
    - Site Analysis: SEO Power Suite (it has tools like rank tracker, spy your competitors, web auditor etc..)

If you're looking for all the above features in one software then hardly you'll find all these functions in one tool.
