Do static pages rank better than wordpress pages?

I have some good rankings for manually optimized html pages I made from scratch. Do you think wordpress will get better rankings than island html pages?

    You can make nice static websites with wordpress as well. AND you can have a blog on it aswell so you could get the best of both worlds. I ussually like simple themes as they are fast, and google likes fast sites.

    Google also likes updated content aswell so try not to just build a static site and leave it to rot
