Video Ranking Factors?

Hi folks.

I was curious to get you guys' takes on what were the video ranking factors that you know to be most important.

First lets give it some context.
  1. I am talking about specifically ranking videos to appear in Google.com search engine results - NOT top placement on YouTube.
  2. I already know THE most important factors are Title, Description, and Tags.

I have gotten a lot of general answers, "Get a lot of likes, comments, tweets shares, high pr backlinks, views, and subscribers."

Ok that all makes sense, but does ALL OF IT MAKE SENSE??

Meaning do we KNOW comments help? Do we KNOW tweets help? What if subscribers hold more weight than backlinks???

What do you guys KNOW?

    In my opinion, a diversified link profile, with scatterings of high PR links is going to be the surest bet when it comes to ranking a YouTube video in the SERPs - however, to answer your question... no one is going to be able to give you a step-by-step plan that they "know" if going to work... test things out yourself and draw your own conclusions.

    Do you need comments to rank? Probably not... do they help? Probably... "What if subscribers hold more weight than backlinks?" Then get more subscribers... I have videos that seem to rank for a variety of reasons... do some tests and see what happens

    At times like this, where information is everywhere and you don't know what's right or wrong, it might be the time to make your own personal experiments to see what gets you results.

    Try making a video that you only use high PR comment, another in the same niche with only subscriber, another with views, etc and maybe try a combination of them for the same niche and see which one shows up and doesn't.

    There's a whole bunch you can test out to see what works and what doesn't. It's one of the great things about SEO, you can always test and improve your knowledge of what works.

    Number of unique visitors is one among the major factors. There are also certain aspects other than what you've stated above, that contributes to the rankings of a video.
