Article Marketing. is it worth it?

so i am doing SEO on my website, and i have created some pretty nice 600-1000 word articles. i want to publish these on some decent article directory's, but i was doing research. About half of the articles i read say it will have a negative effect, and the other half say it will have a good effect. None of the articles however said what scale is good or bad.

i only want to submit a few articles to this site, and the articles are nice quality and so on so forth. Would you recommend putting them on my site, or going ahead and putting them in article directories? I will build links to them after they are submitted.

On this scale, do you think i would be safe?

    It will be better if you post the articles which are niche keyword friendly first.That helps you to get more traffic and enriched your websites.

    Make sure you use either high PR article directories or even better place to place good articles today is High PR web 2.0 websites such as wordpress or blogspot etc...

      Neither of those make a difference. They are nothing but PR n/a or PR 0 pages that your link shows up on.

      I already have web 2.0 sites with 5 or 6 article on. Im looking for opinions on article marketing because i want to diversify my links.
