    Wordpress hands down

It has more freedom and support such as themes, plugins and more.

This person probably told you this because they don't want to spend money for hosting and domains.
Blogger isn't even considered by most people starting any kind of site.

WordPress.org: Beautiful themes, user friendly dashboard, useful plugins, and the list will never end.
If you decide to go with WordPress then host it on your domain because you will have more flexibility, as you can easily customize your blog according to your needs, add affiliate links, AdSense and many more monetizing methods.

Like everyone said: Wordpress! You get all the customization with themes and plugins to get your site to function how you like. I'm always impressed especially with the Wordpress Plugins. When I'm looking to add a specific feature to my site, there's always someone out there that made a plugin or theme that does just that.

This is so funny. WP is a load of crap. Hands down. It needs
plug ins and other nonsense, cuz it just is not very good out
      of the box.

Blogger is one of the biggest, baddest websites on the planet.
It is SEO'd right out of the box by none other than google.
Exactly the way they want it. You don't need any themes or
plugins, as you can put anything anywhere you want at any anytime.

I wonder why you people use youtube. Check that. Maybe you use
      something else. Just like WP.

Well you could always take any decent keyword (>5K Unique Searches) and then search it on Google. Take out the top 20/50 results and compare how many of them are on Wordpress and how many of them are on Blogger. You'll get the answer.

If you've been around any length of time, you'll find that Paulgl is usually full of negative posts. So, take what he says with a grain of salt. I personally love WP and that's the platform I choose everytime I build a site.

But if you need just a blog then blogspot. ranks good I would say.

This thread is so friggin' funny. Google has way more possibilities, without
spending a dime on themes, plugins, and other crapola, than WP ever
will. WP is a piece of sewage compared to blogger. I guess nobody knows
that you can also host your own domain as well...

But, it's all related. WP is the opiate of the masses.

I don't know what planet some of you live on.

I guess "favorite" is not the same as "best." This thread should
morph into which blogging platform is best. WP would not
even make the top 10 if real webmasters were polled on that.

Thanks for all replies. I would like to add some good point of blogger like easy to use without any intallation. Wordpress is also free but its free version is not so much attractive. Fatal Error are very often in wordpress and sometimes takes too much time if extra plugins are installed.

Wordpress only does what the webmaster tells it to do.

Any real webmaster would already know that a Wordpress theme template files are simply php calling data from a MySQL database (CMS), so you have 100% freedom to make those Wordpress theme template files do whatever you want, it's all up to the webmaster.

If a WP page loads slow, that's the webmasters fault (bloated template files, crappy host, etc...).

WordPress is always better to use. It is more comfortable than any other CMS. As you have used it for many years, I should advice you to continue with this CMS. In blogger, you may have some advantages in SEO to rank on Google. But, many popular blogs that have used WordPress also ranked on the search engine. So, as you have enough experience, you should continue with WordPress.

Yes, CNN is running Wordpress on their blogs (only on their blogs).

Try this URL for their Admin. login on one of their blogs.

      http://news.blogs.cnn.com/wp-admin
      The Admin login URL redirects...

You can look at that same CNN blogs HTML source code & also see they're running WP.

      More CNN blogs running WP.

As per me wordpress is best because of it's ability to do on-page SEO with help of plugin like yoast. This feature is not available in blogger, plus with the facility of all those plugins sky is the limit. However, this is also true that if you use blogger chances are that blogger will rank higher with the same keyword, even if it does not have those many backlinks, reason? You know it . Now to conclude, I would still recommend wordpress, as in blogger you may mess up your onpage SEO, however in Wordpress there is absolutely no chance that you will miss on anything. Plus now if you have a good content with wordpress, you will get so many likes, and you will easily be able to make an authority in your niche.

Hope this helps Shiv? All the best.

I am afraid why you are thinking for migrate wordpress to blogger . I hope you are using Self hosted wordpress. I never think to run a blog in Blogger. When we think to start a blog we may decide to start with blogger, because its free. But later most of them shift blogger to wordpress. Blogger have lots of fetures, but while comparing blogger and self hosted wordpress i always votes for WP
