How to find decent link builders

I've placed ads on Odesk before for a linkbuilder. What happened? I get inundated with over 100 replies, all essentially saying similar things. i.e. I will senuke, bulk forum post etc.

I have a site that I have invested a few thousand in, but I only get about 10 visitors per day. I have about 300-400 pages of content. This is clearly a rubbish situation!

So, how do you go about finding decent link builders who will try to get good quality links, hunt down appropriate places to link your site from (e.g. a directory specialising in your type of site) and outreach? All the link builders I have seen seem to be more about spamming, which may have been fine pre-panda/penguin. Not so sure nowadays!

I don't even know how to word an Odesk ad (for example) that would seek out the right type of link builder.

Hoping to get some insight...

Thanks,

Dave

You don't need link builders to build crappy links because they are just using software and those who know how to build quality links are going to be professional SEOs

Instead of looking for link builders try posting something like need people for creating web 2.0s or go for a link network. You can use tiered link building where you create backlinks to the web 2.0s and the process is not a difficult one to understand. Also did you do your keyword research properly before getting into the niche. Does it have high volumes.

It doesn't matter I am in the top 1% of spending on odesk (I don't consider that a good thing) and I have done ads that are very detailed "I need a expert in X,Y,Z, software" "In your reply tell me X,Y,Z," and for the most part you will get tons of replies from about 90% of the people that didn't read the ad. I have a team I'm very happy with but you have to test a lot of people to find what you want. Now what type of links to build is another issue.

Building quality links requires effort, and those people will undoubtedly charge more for their services. Start by looking at premium services that operate outside of the forum, and ask a lot of in depth questions about their processes and how they go about building their links.

I am also new in seo and what I am doing is read through the Warriors For Hire and take your pick of a seo expert after reading the reviews and don't forget to dripfeed to make it look natural.

No need to go to odesk. I tried to find some writers on odesk and it is so hard and I don't like odesk at all.

Good luck and also 10 visitors daily for a 300 pages is very bad.

If you want someone actually decent, you may need to turn to an SEO or IM company. There may even be some IM companies that specialize in your niche. Try Googling for niche + "seo" and any company worth something will rank for your niche.

If you are taking help of these link builders from freelance sites, then please make sure that you are not building links for home page, target inner pages, if it is penalized then only one or few pages would get penalized.

A common mistake made by many people is that they believe using more links is a guaranteed strategy towards achieving top ranks. Doing link building is not enough because it is just an art, not a job to be carried out. Search the net, find reputable agencies which offer professional link-building services, because finding the right individual may sound very difficult these days. Sometimes only having a dozen links is enough to get top ranks, not trying to merely increase the number of them.

Yes a relevant link builder will at the very least reverse engineer your competion to find and approach niche specific Websites relevant to your business.

These types of inbound links have the potential to drive traffic and leads, not just flow link juice.

I consider a good link to be something that is going to get people to click on it. IE if you just place it there for google then yeh it may give you some benefit in the serps, but if you can place a link that real readers are going to click on, then go for it, nofollow or not its valuable. I'd prefer it to be follow, but beggars cant be choosers

I think the best advice you got here was from SeekDefo. Hire someone to build some Web 2.0 sites for you. A few Squidoo lenses for example. Or some decent videos. With 300 to 400 pages of content you should have a number of videos with the goal of a video on every page.

Get some quality articles written. Something that is good enough for a guest post. By the way, those articles will not be the 2 cents per word variety.

If you want to have someone build crap links, have them throw them at the YouTube videos.
