I have been doing some SEO work on my site and I have finally got 2nd page in Google.
However, my sites description looks like this-

home · about us · Predictions Blog · previous results · Live Score · Contact Us · Join Here Free 30 day trial · register Free · Video · Login · What does the term ...

It's basically copying my menu.
I am using All in one SEO on a wordpress site, and I have tried to change it, but Google keeps using this discription which is useless.

Any advice please-doing my head in it is!

I hope your webpage is not using images only, I mean it has text as well to display. Can you share your website so issue can be checked thoroughly.

It is normal for the menu to appear beneath your meta-description. However, if you are only seeing the menu and no meta-description, this probably means that the meta-description on your homepage is blank.

To check, hover over your website's homepage and right-click your mouse.

    Next select "View Source".

Hit "CTRL F" and type in "Metadata". Now scroll down slowly and look for an area named "description". This is where your meta-description should be. If it is blank, there is the issue.

If you are using WP, then get Yoast plugin.

Under metas & titles you can change your descriptions to whatever you want. Make sure you tick the "force rewrite" as well.

It could take weeks for it to change. Google has to recrawl your site.

If we could see the Google Cache text version of the problem page & the target keyword, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to figure out. Otherwise all we can do is guess.
