Hello there,

So let's say you have a blog post that is ranking on page 1. If I changed the content of the post to reflect updated information, let's say price. but the links do no change or the url - will this effect the positioning?

I do not think it will, but wanted to ask.

  • It shouldn't. If you're only changing little details like the price, you should be fine.

If you overhaul all the text on the page, you might lose your rankings.

That's what I thought. So, if I was going to add internal links, add a picture or anything like that chances are it would effect my rankings and I'd be better off creating a new post and ranking that then.

It doesn't affect the ranking in a negative but say it's not number 1 then it can be pushed to the first position like this coz Google loves fresh content, been there done that

Michael is correct. I learned that from my writer and SEO service providers.
A few years ago, I was hesitant to touch my content. Not a single dollar could you make me remove or add a comma in my existing content back then. Ha, ha!
