Hey guys,

I am somewhat new to the IM arena and have been learning a lot from the forum, distilled, Moz, etc, Point Blank SEO, and will be working on a few sites. Is there anyone good who someone can recommend for help in backlinking sites? I just do not have the time to do all the things necessary in my bus. Thanks guys,

Christopher John

I recommend you go to www.alexa.com to check whether the website worth you putting a backlink. If the number of hits is below 20 thousands, don't bother.

I mean, now is it even worthless to start a website from scratch and try to rank it in a highly competitive area? Since the rules have changed so much it looks like internet marketing (whether you are selling a physical product, information products, digital, etc) is it too late? How long does it take to aquire a PR of 4-5 with heavy marketing efforts, backlinks, etc,? Or is money better off spent with direct mail, and efforts with local marketing driving the site.

Not worthless but you need to know how the game is played these days. If I were you, to rank a site in a highly competitive niche I would buy PR 4 or 3 domains( there are lot of other factors ) but let's start with this, a PR 3 blog da/pa 25 to 30 is good, trust factor 10, anchor text diversity etc etc. paste some good articles related to the niche and provide a contextual do follow link from these sites.

I would also throw in some bookmarks, article submissions, even guest posts if the niche needs me to or allows it and you are done.

Do instead of starting a blog from scratch you can buy the domain? What is a good source to buy domains? I knew you could buy domains but I did not know you could buy then that already had a PR.

You need to look for expired domains

It does not take too much time to rank a new site, PR is calculated by
    Quality Content
Backlinks, Inbound links, Internal links, External links, No-Follow and Do-Follow links.
    Site submission
    Press Releases.
