Free Keyword Competition Tool

Hey all,

I built a tool to check the competitiveness of keywords (similar to Long Tail Pro or Market Samurai), using a variety of metrics and then I use a formula that I came up with to give an overall difficulty rating for the keyword. I want to test it under load, can you guys please try it out? As of now, I plan on keeping this free to use, but I may change my mind later on, depending on hosting costs. You can check it out here... Dave's Keyword Tool (I'm in the process of thinking of a better name and will be registering a new domain for it)

At the moment, it is best used in conjunction with Google's keyword planner, but I am thinking of maybe adding that type of functionality in if I can.

I appreciate any feedback, and please let me know if you come across bugs. Thanks!

    Hi Dave,

    ran a quick search for roofing portland or and got good results. I think you are on to something here. It would be great to have local monthly search numbers coming up, otherwise, GREAT JOB! I am going to bookmark this puppy!

    Hey Dave,

    I do SEO, specifically within the cowboy lifestyle genre and am always in need of good keyword tools to check the competitiveness of words like cowboy, rodeo, bull riding, etc. Great work I will definitely be bookmarking your site as well. I can already tell it will come in handy, especially when results show local & global monthly searches in the future.

      Hmmm, I'm not too sure why you would get this error. Was this after you tried to perform a search? or were you not able to open the url itself?
