Boosting pages that link to you?

I was browsing Open Site Explorer, and I found a relevant authority PR3 Page, with a dofollow link to my page.

Is it a good idea to send social bookmarks to this PR3 page, or its better to build more relevant links, straight to my money page?

    Both.

    Having relevant links to your page is gonna rise its relevancy towards the keyword.

    When using lots of social bookmarks, definetely teh best strategy is sending them to a page which carries a link to yours.

    So, yeah, this is my opinion: I'd work on both of them. Again, it would depend on how Google is working it, if it's considering the keyword to be viral or authoritative... but, anyways, those are both good strategies to follow through.

    It may be too tough to budge the needle on a pr3, I would only bother if the pr3 was my property.

    A few links to an unranked page linking to you may have a larger % effect, such low grade backlinks getting no traffic might also be a ranking negative.

    It would be even better if your promote a page that has a do follow link to your site that you created and can benefit from in more than one way. You can write an article on HubPages Or Infobarrel with a link to your site and then promote that article. This way you promote your website and you can make a little extra money.

    Definitely, It is good idea to send the backlinks to your PR3 Page. Try to make contextual links along with social bookmarks to that PR3 Page. By doing so your PR3 will be getting link juice from the properties you'll be creating.

    It'll give you more benefit than sending a direct blast to main website.

      Complete waste of time...what if your link building actually hurts?
      (If that's possible....now you get a double whammy)

      Someday I will make a post about your backlinks profile going
      belly up, and affecting a lot of things. People forget that. You
      might do nothing wrong. But if the pages backlinking to you,
      suddenly get some penalty, you can be screwed behind the scenes.
      I'll bet it happens often, and nobody ever thinks about that.

      Not mention (again), that backlinking to your backlinks is a complete
      waste of time.

    The social part of Social Bookmarking often gets neglected.

    Would your followers appreciate this link... or possibly stop following you because of it?

    I have social bookmarked some of my guest posts, some of my followers appreciate it, and have passed it on, which leads to more followers.
