I only built about 30 links to my site and haven't really looked at it since the ass fell out of BMR but is the penalty still active or can I start to use this domain again. Also the .com version of this website redirects to the .co.uk site automatically. I have only built BMR links to the .co.uk version, will the .com version be penalizes as well.

I think the BMR penalty is over with. I have some sites I used it on and they rank like other sites. Usually hit by penguin but if not rank fine.

I've lost 90 pounds(160+ overall) fasting since January 2016 after failing for years on diets that just made me sick and miserable. Check out Prudently.com where I'm writing about fasting and weight loss. Get a Brandable Domain Name at Name Perfection.

Yeah I was thinking that myself. Good riddance. They punished sites hard for that.

Penalty just don't go on it's own, it's either you continued building backlinks the right way and it cushioned the effect or you clean up your profiles.

I don't think this type will penalty will ever go off, they decrease the power of the backlinks of the entire network

I removed all the backlinks, so there should be no penalty right?

yes, if you have removed all the backlinks then there is no penalty for you any more.

Then you are good to go.

However, you won't rank as you use to do because of the link shedding so you have to retrace your step and start only good quality work.

Also, are you sure the BMR links are the only ones holding you back?
That question is worth looking at..

If I recall correctly, Google has stated that all penalties do expire over a set period (the period is not specified though). The problem is that there's always a chance that the next Penguin update catches these links and penalizes you again (not fun!).

Have you done a disavow and recon request for the site?
