I was contacted by an online firearms safety course site who's interested in being a sponsor of my site. I know google recently changed the rules and doesnt allow firearm promotional material... however, this particular company only sells online courses, not actual firearms or any actual physical products of any kind.

I know its kind of a grey area (and my gut says dont do it) but just curious about any opinions out there about this.

As a rule I stay away from grey areas with Adsense. They are known to ban you for no reason at all, so a grey area is too risky as far as I am concerned. You truly appreciate the value of an Adsense account when you are forced to use network #2 and realize they pay 1/50th of what Google does.

    Or you could,
Go on Webmaster boards and ask them.

I advise you to say "NO" to them, don't you realize how in the world they want to sponser someone without a valid reason. Don't do this stay away and don't mess with google Instrucions.

I wouldn't do it, I wouldn't even contact Google asking about it (draw negative attention to your site/account).

If the firearm site is willing to pay more than your currently making with Adsense, then completely remove Adsense from the site & go with the better deal.

One or the other, not both.

I won't recommend you to use Adsense for that niche. For sure, Google Adsense don't allow niches that are related to violence or hate (especially firearms). Maybe you could try some affiliate programs that are related to firearms.

I have had nothing but problems with Adsense. They decline your account depending on the mood of someone who doesn't care about your business. Take your time with everything. I suggest copying someone who already has ad approved. Not word for word, but you can easily mimic an ad, and have it approved easily. You are not reinventing advertizing, you are merely looking for more customers, why not use what is already working?
