Two Local Video Optimization Questions

After many months of reading the forums and a few key WSO purchases, I finally have a a few local videos ranking on page 1. Probably not as difficult as I imagined it would be... but...

My wife and I both have laptops and share a makeshift "office" in our home. We both utilize the same wifi, of course. However, if we both sign out of google and then perform google searches, we find that videos that rank on page 1 for me are on the bottom of page 2 for her for the same search, same browser, etc.
Why would that be?

Also, in regards to backlinks -- I bought a few hundred from fiverr and delicious... but that was before I read on this forum that backlinks "from those sources" are kinda a running joke around here.

I just need clarification on whether that means that the "quality" of the backlink is what's bad -- or if that is generally more in regard to optimizing websites and has no bearing on videos? (I've also read that quality and quantity, even to excess, would HELP a video ranking where it might destroy a website rank.)

Can anyone help with clarifying any of the above?

Thanks!
PS. Would anyone also vouch for the private Video forum here as worth the purchase?

I think quality of backlink is a major role to ranking. Just create some high quality backlinks and your ranking will improve a lot.

Create some high PR ( 7-9) backlinks and see the improvement.

You can see the real rank of your videos by logged off from google and clear your cache. adding few more backlink will increase the rank of your video.

No idea. I can speculate but you should get in the habit of using icognito from chrome or hidemyass or use serpbook / serpfox to check a videos rankings.

I never check from my normal browser because I always get manipulated results.

For ranking YT videos specifically, the quality of the backlinks does NOT matter. They can be the shittiest, spammiest links you can think of, and you can still rank a video. I've done it dozens of times before.

The thing is, its not as simple as aimlessly blasting backlinks. You need to know how to analyze competition, you need to have your anchor text set right (for youtube you can overoptimize anchortext) make sure the first tag of your video is your primary anchor text, second tag secondary anchor text etc etc.

Most problems with fiver as far as ranking videos goes, is getting the links indexed. I have a select few gigs I use where a lot of the links get indexed on their own (even though they're spammy) and I send the rest to indexification.

But for MOST fiver gigs, its a pain in the ass to get the links indexed (unless you've tested dozens of gigs like I do), which is the only reason you may want to avoid it. Often times its easier for me to just turn on GSA and do the links myself, then send them all to indexification.

Moral of the story - fiver backlinks for videos? = 100% yes, if you know what you're doing.

fiver backlinks for websites? = 90% no, unless you REALLY know what you're doing.
