This is freaking insane.

Today there is a Penguin update, quite a few people get hit by it, especially some people with multiple sites in my monthly service.

I go look what's going on and they are building 100's of spammy links per month on web directories, forum link profiles and more of that crap.

And all month long they are complaining to me that their rankings don't move fast enough (no freaking surprise).

No idea why they even outsource it when they think they can do it better their selves.

Next time I'll inform them in the confirmation emails that they should NOT build any links their selves or buy any other link package, unless they source their self for niche relevant links at high PR pages, what a bullshit.

    Could you include a clause in your contract stating that you are the exclusive provider of SEO for their site, while the contract is in tact? If they need more done, they can pay you more?

    Well it's not my problem, they just should not start complaining that I'm responsible for it when it go's wrong so perhaps a clause that they have no right to speak when they build spammy links their selves.

      Hers the issue - People who hire service see the provider as a commodity provider not a SEO. You simply provide links in their eyes while THEY are the real SEOs. So they hire multiple services and screw them up and then they turn to the most expensive (considering some use fiverr gigs) and blame you.

      Nik get out of that market. Charging little and nothing and trying to make it up in volume is not sustainable in a world where Google is going to slap the junk our of quantity.

        SEO is not 100% for sure,no one can garantee a #1 on google,why would you provide a service that you have no garantee on nothing ?

        Just imagine a doctor or a dentist saying that they are doing their job but they are not 100% sure...?!?!?!

          You're making the OP sound like a con man

          He's selling links on his tiny little network that links to bunches of websites from people on Warrior Forum who are already penalized!

          No wonder client ranks are dropping like flies!

          Let me fix that for you. Investing in strategies that work and keeping them off the radar is the key. You'll never see me here pimping out my network but to each his own I guess. More money, less work and no naggy @ss internet marketers reporting your links when their crap tanks. Then again I guess somebody's gotta do it. Get that money nik0!

          Edit: On second thought a bit of revenue diversification is never a bad idea. So I suppose it's not THAT bad an idea if you happen to have a few 100 or so extra domains that you could separate from your own projects.

          Edit#2: Ok I take that back. You have to deal with customer service=big time sink/higher costs.

            Call me a money whore, but yes, it's too lucrative to let it go and people literally screamed to re-open that service so should I say no, I don't think so.

            When the moment comes that it really doesn't work anymore for any length of time then I would be the first to take that service down.

        Actually I did cancel my high PR blog post service about 2 months ago but I re-opened it again for several reasons:

        - 1 client (also a forum link seller I think) orders for $4000+/month of those links for many clients
        - many people requested a service to rank affilaite/adsense sites (since we refuse those in the monthly
        - having an easy ranking solution for my own sites

        I redesigned my monthly service completely in the last 1.5 weeks, right before this new Penguin update happened. For the affiliate niches it would be a lot tougher to do that in the same way as there we deal with one time prices and that doesn't allow for such model.

        Also the investment in a few thousand domains and then using that to rank crappy sites doesn't make any sense.

      @Performanceman, were you the guy who got penalized his site when textlink (link network) got hit by google? Cuz u seem so afraid of link building and Google. It's okay, my site got hit too when penguin update first rolled out last april 2012. But I didn't cry too much and keep telling here in the forum that link building is DOOMED cuz it isn't. Performance MAN, not sure about that.

      @Dennis, I am not sure if you remember me, but I did let you changed the links I bought pointing to the new site couple months ago. Guess what, the site survived and still doing great in google. All I did was just add web2.0 links and links from my small PR network. You've been very helpful here so don't get upset by those.

        Yeah same guy. Got hit using one of the most widely known link selling setups and because of it thinks all link building is the same and we should all run to Social only.

      Read Mike's reply again.

      Just in case you didn't notice, my monthly service has changed completely over the last 2 weeks, people only receive links from niche relevant domains now:

      - 8 networks based on 8 different niches, max 15 OBL per site
      - 30 networks based on 30 different niches, where sites only get shared with 5 people

      In case the (still in old shape) high PR blog post service wouldn't work anymore then that's definitely not the end of the world. I would re-use them for private purposes to dominate a specific niche with lots of feeder sites.

      Keep on dreaming though

      And yes, there were quite a few people that went down, mostly these were typical IM sites with EMD's and few anchor diversity as it's real simple, in the high PR blog post packages clients have to give me their keywords and as I know that most buy tons of other links they are responsible their selves for the correct anchor distribution. I tried to do it myself before but that resulted in screaming clients and link adjustments cause I didn't follow their keyword list. Fine with me, I'm not some police force.

    This is just how it goes my brother.

    I have a friend that does this on all the services and has been for years. He just jumps around from service to service and then complains that he isn't ranking yet. Then he buys thousands of low quality fiverr links and ruins a website after website.

    Then he wants to complain to the owners that the service doesn't work. I just have to laugh.

    That's why it's important to only* work with clients that you hand select.

    I'd much rather work with 10 serious clients at a higher monthly fee, than 100 who want to take risks. Often they don't care to listen or understand the consequences it can have on their business.

    It takes time to educate them, but the ROI is so much better, and everyone's happy that way.

      Maybe I'll start a separate business that focuses on well paying clients, no idea how successful that will be to find these. What I see with most of the SEO companies that outsource their clients to me is that they all come from their own region.

      So it seems pretty hard to find well paying clients off the forums.

          What does that have to do with finding initial clients?

          Sure if clients are not happy the word won't spread.

          When I look at the influx of clients from the current SEO companies that outsource to me then it's really not much, while we do get good results for them.

          So when I offer services directly to the so called "offline companies" I don't expect it to go like wildfire either but well Rome isn't build in a day either.

          I guess I can better focus on ranking my own sites instead of finding higher paying clients.
