Chiropractic niche: How to compete with Chiromatrix?

Hey guys.

So I've been visiting some local chiropractors lately and have already had a few say no thanks because they use a company called chiromatrix. After looking into it, they're pretty popular among chiropractors, so I decided to give chiromatrix a call & see what they offer.

Here's what I found:
-They offer their instant website software & choice of template for $95/mo plus $395 setup fee.
-Social Media package (setup on facebook, google+, & twitter) plus a weekly post on all 3 sites (includes instant website): $195/mo plus $395 setup fee.
-Media package includes videos, social media, & instant website: $395/mo plus $395 setup fee.

So my question is, any recommendations for what to offer a chiropractor who already uses these services? It'll be difficult to compete on price, so I need a way to convince the doctor I can offer a better service.

A few things come to mind....
1) One thing I noticed, is chiromatrix uses "canned" text on all sites. A quick copy/paste of some chiromatrix site text, into copyscape, shows thousands of identical pages. This should hurt the chiropractors overall rankings, correct?

2) One doctor I went to, uses their social package, which automatically posts to facebook, twitter, & google+ on the doctor's behalf. The problem with this is one, they seem to be canned posts. And 2, this doctor had 7 facebook fans & 1 twitter follower, so what good is chiromatrix doing for them here? It's like renting a conference room & podium, with 1 attendee in the room.

3) Another doctor I spoke to, said he pays $95/mo with chiromatrix & he's #1 in his area because of it . When I spoke on the phone to chiromatrix, I did notice they try selling their instant website package as if they're also providing top notch seo services, which is obviously false, but hey, this doctor is #1, so he's convinced they are. After doing some research on this doctor though, I realized the #2 result also uses chiromatrix (so the top 2 are a wash), and the #3 doctor has a website that looks like it was made in 1995, so in reality, the reason he's #1 is due to lack of competition. But how do I convince him of this? Or do I simply walk away & hit a lower doctor in his area?

Any recommendations on how to compete with competitors like these, or what to say to a potential client when they say they're using these types of services?

Thanks

One thing that most companies that I've worked for or spoken with have always said that they are looking for is personalized media and advertizing packages. The only issue with that is that they are usually afraid to commot resources to anything that is not "industry standard and proven".

The main problem for you is that they will want to be able to run your package parallel to what they currently do even if what that are currently doing is not really working for them.

If you can create an opportunity (often spelled "offer") that appears to limits risk then it will also be more attractive for them.

    1. Do not get intimidated

    2. find somebody that does not use them and sell you service.

If they use automated canned stuff they will die sooner than you think.

Take their prices times 2 and offer real value, personalized emails and posts etc.

If somebody asks why you cost more simply tell them that you care about your customers and don't just have a boiler room that pitches all day long.

    1) Many business owners prefer a more 'personal' relationship than what can be provided by standardized solutions.
    2) Ask about the service level they have received and if they are pleased.
    3) The local solution you could deliver can have much more personality and be reflective of the business owner/practice than a package solution.

It's a matter of finding the pain points and leveraging your strengths. Plus, there are always new practices coming into the marketplace for you to approach.

I agree with hpgoodboy, don't be intimidated. Is there a specific reason you want to only target chiropractors? Why not target other industries as well? That way you could build up a customer base. If you provide exceptional service and value they will start spreading the news and soon you'll have more customers then you can handle.

Art has a good suggestion. I have hosted a seminar for a Chiropractor I took training from. One of the places we got a lot of the attendees was a chiropractic school. See if you can get materials in at the schools.

Contact management might be an additional service you could offer. Help them grow their business, contact list and build their customer base. An autoresponder, voice mail, text, postcard center all rolled into one is something a lot of business people are interested in if it does not cost an arm and a leg.

I have a system in mind I can give you some examples of, but you would need to p.m. me.

    $395/mo plus $395 setup fee.????

Is that just for hosting and use of the template?

You can tell them all they are being completely scammed and any business site owner who posts here will agree. I know there are some really good custom scripts out there for sites. But $395 a month, man.

A couple of things i can think of.

    1) You need to display your unique benefits over why you are better than them. This will basically come down to how you can generate them more business and represent them in a better way. How can you do that?

    2) You need to make it as easy as possible for them to switch to you, without risk, without costing them a lot of money at once. Am i right in thinking the bulk of your income will come from them once they are on board? Perhaps consider offering a very low setup fee/no setup fee in order to win them over.

Those are just my initial guesses without knowing the business model and competition in detail. Hope that is helpful.
