SEO PLUGIN FOR WP BLOG!

I installed a SEO plugin for my blog. Before the installation I was getting approximately 80 visitors to my site daily.

After installation of the plugin the status indicator says my site is "100%" optimized.

Since the installation I'm getting 25 visitors to my blog. I can figure out what the problem is?

I check the plugin and the status indicator say it's now "98%" optimized what gives?

I got this plugin from Jeff Johnson I'm pretty sure he's probably known throughout this forum.

Would it be something with the sofware? How could it go from being "100%" optimized to "98%" optimized?

If you could take a look at the site maybe a visual could see where I'm missing it. I appreciate your feedback. I was really proud getting the small amount of traffic that I was getting.

I thought SEO plugin was going to be traffic magnet. What I'm seeing is just the opposite.

I know something is missing, but I can't put my finger on it. Thanks in advance.

    sounds like you're not using the all-in-one-seo plugin... cos within a few days I was getting over 100 visitors a day, and the blog only has 4 posts on it.

      I'd say it's time to move to a nicer looking blog template, but that shouldn't affect SEO. I've not seen a plugin that gives optimization percentage figures. Please let us know the exact name of that plugin.

      For 2 months I've been using the All-In-One-SEO plugin on a new WordPress site. I have not done any real promotion of the site yet, other than at a couple of blog comments, but it ranks #1 of 28 mil on Google for it's title keyphrase. Yet Google Analytics only shows I've had 4 visitors over that time. I suspect Analytics is the culpret.

      I'm actually using All in One SEO Pack Version 1.4.91. There is a new version of All in One SEO Pack available. View version 1.5.5 Details which I will update now. I'll see how that works. I was about to dismantle the whole thing until I came back to the forum and read everyone's responses. I had been toiling with this for days now. Spend so much time that I hadn't been back to forum to check out the reply's thanks for all your help!

    There is no such thing as "Optimized". It's all guesswork.

    Take the time to find a nice looking theme for your site ... it will help.

    I can recommend like many others here you give WordPress › All in One SEO Pack WordPress Plugins a shot.

    Jeff Johnson makes his money selling products to people who want to make money online. He's pretty good at picking and developing products that sell. He outsources nearly everything. I don't trust his SEO Advice because that is NOT his niche.

    Take the time to read Aaron Walls stuff if you want to learn a more practical approach to SEO. It's at SEOBook.com it's a membership site, but there are good free tools there.

    It's not secret that you need to have good structure on your site and use meta description and title tags. But the real power comes from sites linking into yours with the keywords that match the content of your site. And the better the incoming link the better you will rank.

      Yes, you need to read up on SEO in WordPress. The very best article I've found is the one by Joost de Valk at his Yoast site. This article should be required reading by any WP marketer.

      Just gave myself a slap on the forhead about the new site I mentioned earlier. Upon rechecking, I realized I changed themes and forgot to transfer the Analytics files. Maybe an Analytics plugin is best way to go after all.

    I've been using Jeff's plug in on a new blog, and so far I haven't noticed any real results. For those not using it, it auto-installs some other recommended plug-ins, including all-in-one.

    One thing I did notice was his suggested permalink settings. I don't claim to know more than Jeff(not by a long shot), but it was different than the settings I usually see suggested, and in my opinion was not a good choice.

    I'm keeping it installed for now, but I seriously doubt I'll install it on any other blogs.

    Saying that Jeff doesn't know about traffic is ridiculous. He and the late Ken Giddens were the stars of the original version of John Reese's Traffic Secrets.

    Having said that, I personally don't think that this plug-in is very useful. It installs some good plug ins, but ones you can find yourself very easily, and then adds 'tweaks' that I don't think are ideal. I don't like the way it messes with the permalink structure, for instance. It also adds a self-promotional link to your links.
