Link building strategies

For a while now I have been doing a lot of my link building by using either my own blog networks (when I have something in the same niche and its makes sense to link) but I am wondering what other ways to get links which are just as good in terms of quality etc.

I am doing SEO for a porn site for a client and I own no porn blogs so I am finding it very difficult to get links!

    You probably should not have taken on this client if you do not know what you are doing.

    Porn involves a lot of outreach. Begging, pleading, and buying links. Lots of buying especially. Also probably need to setup a mini porn ring of sites.

    Really not a niche I would even consider stepping into without an expense budget of about $5000/month.

      I know what I am doing.

      I just want to know if there is anything else I can do other than buying a few porn websites myself. I have been doing some guest posts, forum posts on related websites and purchasing ad space on popular blogs. The budget is rather small but the niche and keywords they want to rank highly for should be more than do-able because there domains (there are 2) are aged, have a good amount of links from other places and they have good on page SEO.

      Thanks for you input, its good to know that I am on the right track at least. I agree, I probably shouldn't have taken this project on. Its actually a month to month contract so I may actually see how it goes this month and then call it a day if getting links is too difficult and too much work for the budget.

      On another note though, how do you guys get links in general? Is it mostly private website networks and buying links? I have never really bought a link, I do buy ad space though from high traffic websites.

        Porn is pretty tough with a small budget. Ads and social media are probably a better way to go than just rankings. You'll drive more traffic that way.
