Hi guys and girls.

I'm really having my doubts here. Currently doing a website, and I'm about to hit 100 different pages none of them published yet (wordpress).

But I have my doubts about the internal linkjuice. If I do anchor, linking to a page which also is listed in one of my top tierdown menus, will that hurt my SEO?

Also I need to know if I can do anchor, linking to the same page from different pages?

I really hope some of you will be kind and help me out here.

You don't want to overwhelm the reader with internal links, but it's good practice to link out to relevant pages of your site, inside the content. You can use anchor text. Even if you've already linked to that page in your navigation, you can still link to it safely. It would be more beneficial to link to pages that aren't in the nav though, since any nav links are already site wide internal links.

Very good advice. When thinking about internal linking do so from the perspective of the reader. You are trying to write content that is informative. The internal links should be to pages that if clicked are relevant to the original piece and will reward the reader with additional valuable information and be a good use of their time.

How many links per article will depend on the length but 2-3 internal links per 500 words isn't overloading the content.

If you are linking to other wiki style (evergreen) articles on your own website on behalf of your reader, then it should be viewed as a good thing by Google, rather than opening you up for a penalty.

Anything you do to help the reader out is a good thing.

      Hi guys.

      Thanks for responding so quickly.

So let be just see if I got this right, I should not do anchors on links that are in the sidewide top navigation, and I can do anchors to the same page a couple of times from different pages, if it has absolute relevancy to the main content of the page?

You can still anchor to a category if the category is relevant to the content. Often times these categories are present in a site's top nav.

Just think about whether or not a visitor will find value in what you're linking to.

        Hope this helps!

    I completely agree with dbmediallc,
you must keep it simple for the readers,
do internel linking where necessary only.
