Seo 2013 Check list for writers:
Remember: Content is King
But SEO is Queen

1) Choose keyword for your article: if its new topic – try to think what searcher will search when he try to know more.If its old topic – you can use the "adwords keywords suggestion tool" – to choose what keyword to target.
2) Title - Put the keyword in the title – the more in the beginning – the better (again don’t forget the reader)
3) Title - Try to make you title no more than - 65 characters
4) Title – try yo make each title to be unique then other title in the site.
5) Url - Put the main Keyword in Post Url -
example:
keyword: jerusalem coin
The url have to be like - http://domain.com/jerusalem-coin-information
6) H1, H2 - Put the Keyword in H1, H2 – but don’t forget the reader.
7) Images- Add alt tags and title with your Keyword in all of your images
8) Images - For image links, the alt attribute serves as anchor text – sample:
<a href="http://www.example.com/webpage.html"><img src="img/keyword.jpg" alt="keyword" width="100" height="100"></a>
9) Meta description - Try to make your meta description tags no more ~155 characters (Google not read more then 155)
10) Meta description - Well written descriptions influence High click-through rate – that make Google love your article.
11) Interlinking- Interlink your related post, make sure your link contains keyword. Don’t link too deep and same keywords more than two times.
12) Call to action - If the article is about help someone, – its good to end the article with "call to action" – to share, spread this article in all social media they have, and give the reason why it is so important.
13) Keyword density – between 2%-4% (Keyword density = Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page)
14) Video- If you have relevant video to your article it very helpful to add relevant video to your article – its help readers and also help Google to see that users stay in your site more time – then the articles get better ranking in Google listing.
15) Tags – for adding tag – go to "adwords keywords suggestion tool" and find more relevant tags to your main keywords.
Good Luck

      LOLZ

I think for #12 you might need those coupons as some way to pay people to share your articles. Its a really good offer Yukons made, you might get some links in exchange.

Keyword density is one of those things that attempts to help sell IM products, it's not something that actually ranks pages, matter of fact those percentage claims (from everyone) usually make the page look like it's trying to game the SERPs (obvious keyword stuffing).

No offense to you (seriously), when someone suggest keyword density it's always a sign to me that they don't know what they're talking about or they're an affiliate trying to sell an IM product that makes keyword density claims.

Google is usually good at finding stuffed keywords. If your targeting Bing or Yahoo you could probably pull keyword stuffing off without any problems, just don't expect Google to rank that same page. That's not a flame on Bing or Yahoo, they're just not as evolved as Googles algo., they're more like Google was 10 years ago.

Thank you! - but if your kw target not in the article you write - so who knows you want to rank for? and if it stuffed more than 4% so it look like you want to trick google - so to say that keyword density is not matter - i think it not true.

Place the keyword in strong positions.
          • Page Title
          • Top of page
          • <h> tags
          • Image alt-text
          • Plain text surrounding anchor-text & images
          • Multiple internal pages focused on the same subject (incoming/outgoing internal links).
          • LSI keywords

The list above doesn't mean you need to use all those things, my point is those things can be used to keep the page from looking spammy/stuffed.

Here's an example, lets say your keyword is auto insurance, instead of constantly repeating the word auto use LSI keywords on the same page & the incoming internal links that include the same types of things in my list above.

Google knows these keywords basically have the same meanings:
          • auto
          • automobile
          • vehicle
          • car

You could also use additional relevant keywords like:
          • truck
          • motorcycle

Google knows that cars, trucks, & motorcycles are all in the same category (passenger vehicles).

I think what he's saying is that for safety's sake you don't want your keyword density any more than 2%-4%, not that you should purposely put a certain amount in.
