How do LOW PPC costs affect display ads?

I found some keywords in my niche that have a lot of monthly searches and "zero" bidders. But because "no one" is bidding on them, (hence, there is no data for Google to assess), this gives the appearance that I won't receive many daily clicks.

One of keywords has 20,000+ monthly searches. I should be able to get clicks for .25 cents or less with a well optimized lander. Or so, this is what I'm hoping for, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, I have a short list of websites that I'd like to target for display ads. But according to the issue above, will Google choose not display my banner ads much because they're worth less than other terms?

So, how will these low PPC costs affect my display ads?

If you have experience with this, please enlighten me.

If you've found such a lucrative keyword with no competition - go for it. Test it out. If there really is no competition you won't lose much money giving it a try.

In terms of the display network, you'll have to be bidding high enough to be worthy of the ad slot on your chosen site.

Let me know if this helps. I'm not sure I understood you perfectly - seems to be a crossover question between search / display.

Google may not be accepting ads on those keywords.

You can't just come up with a keyword and expect google
      to dislplay ads for it.

You also err about low CPC. Google sets the opening price.
It might not be as low as you think. They do have minimum
      standards. It could be $5.

Why even go for any perceived keywords with no ads? What this
means is that particular keyword is either lumped in a phrase, and
getting ads, or, most likely it is a completely useless keyword for
adwords. Google does not do useless. Google could populate each
and every search with an ad. But that's useless. For the searcher
      and the adwords user.

Find something else that is worth it, within your budget.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

Hi Paul, and thanks for your response. I certainly understand what you are saying. You can't just create a keyword out of thin air and expect them to jump through hoops to "serve" the ad. I get that.

I also realize how rare it is to find a keyword with zero competitors. And under normal circumstances, I would agree with you, in that,.. it's usually a dud. But not in this case. There is a huge demand for my offering, and tens of thousands of people looking for it. So, the search volume is there in plain sight. Do you think Google would NOT take my money when they have 20,000 searches per month?

I don't believe that is the case this time. I think they'll take my money.

Hi Dan, thanks for your response. Yes, it is somewhat of a crossover question as I'm dealing with two things: Keyword ads, and Display ads. I was just wondering which one deserves more focus (based on affordability). According to your response, it looks like display ads may be out of reach for me.

I'm sure there are some hefty competitors competing for ad slots on those sites. So if I understand you correctly, instead of paying for the"keyword", display ads don't rely on keywords much/ or all all? So essentially, with display ads, I could be competing with the big boys, based on their "per click", "per impression" and "daily cap"?

      Thanks again, Dan.

There has a simple equation like this ........

Huge monthly search (Click) * Small $$ (< $1) = Hand sum amount of $$$ (At the end of Month)

So, decide what is best !!
