Hello Warriors,

Can anyone tell me if adding Google Adsense ads to a new site will hurt your ranking in Google if you don't allow your site to rank first before adding Google Adsense ads?

Yes -- its seen as a negative ranking factor. It doesn't matter when you add them.

Keep in mind -- things like having all of you ads above the "fold" will also hurt your rankings.

The time you decide to put Adsense ads on your site and your Google ranking have nothing to do with each other.

I think it is best to put ads on later for two reasons.

Firstly as you said it has a small negative effect on rankings and there is absolutely no point if you aren't getting any traffic.

That doesn't make any sense. If you don't have ads when traffic arrives your guaranteed to not get any clicks. It's like Walmart keeping their cash registers locked until a certain amount of people enter the store. Sorry folks, we need 27 more people in the store before we can open the checkout lanes.

Adding/removing Adsense isn't going to move a page in the SERPs.

Adsense code has nothing at all to do with your Google rankings. Placement doesn't matter, when you add it doesn't matter, none of it matters.

Since Adsense is a Google Company why would using them hurt your ranking in Google? It would make no sense. What Ads you display (except if they link to questionable sites) has no baring on your Google ranking.

Hmm well if your site is really fresh, I would probably wait with adding Adsense. However, I don't think it's really going to affect your Search Results Position too much...

    Cheers,

Adsense has nothing to do with the site's ranking, adsense is a different system and it has no connection to the ranking factors of any site.

    Google policy says:
"Participating in Google AdSense does not affect your site's rank in Google search results and will not affect the search results we deliver. Google believes strongly in freedom of expression and therefore offers broad access to content across the web. Our search results are unbiased by our relationships with paying advertisers and publishers. We will continue to show search results according to our PageRank technology"

Actually, because different bots visit your site with adsense, it
actually can help. Google gleans from different crawls.

New site, slap adsense ASAP. Probably will show up in SERPS
faster, as it's now crawled by the adsense bot. Many times google
will update SERP info from the latest bot to crawl. I know for
a fact that any changes I make show up almost instantaneously
      in SERPs because of adsense.

I don't know if some of the replies were just jokes.

Violating adsense TOS is a whole different matter.
