Hi I am a complete newbie to this forum and to SEO in general. I am trying to do onpage seo and I have 2 questions and would really appreciate it if somebody could answer for me

1. I have 5 pictures on the page I am trying to optomise. The keyword I want to target is Yoga London. Should I name all the pictures "Yoga London"? and will this help me increase my position on Google?

2. If I have testimonials on one of the services page and I have the same written testimonials on another page, will google see this as duplicate content and penalise me?

Thanks

I do Seo work for a Yoga company in the US that has multiple locations.
What I did was the name the pages (brand) yoga studio (town).
We have double listings on page 1 for our keywords both local listings and first organic listings on most of the search terms.

This has mostly to do with local citations , ctr and engagement. Its not a new brand.

Only images wont help but if your doing only that then describe the images in depth.
Yes google will count this as dup-content basically it will rank only one of the results.

Thanks a lot Amazon Guy. One other question, if you put your keyword on the page in bold does that help with seo or should you just leave it normal?

Also for the name of the page shoudl I put my website name first or the keyword forst example - MDS Yoga | Yoga London or Yoga London | MDS Yoga

does it make a difference with word you put first?

Do not name all the images the same. You are risking overoptimizing that keyword, meaning using it too much that it seems unnatural. I'd come up with a list of ways that you can include your keyword. Different variations. Adding in other words. Using synonyms where possible (not easy for Yoga).

    So you could have

    Yoga London
    London Bikram Yoga Studio
    Yoga Sudio In London

    Etc.

You really don't need to use the same exact keyword multiple times.

Keyword placement is only one part of SEO optimization so this alone will not help you rank for any keyword with the slightest of competition. You definitely have some homework to do.

You should be okay using the same testimonial on multiple pages. Obviously it would be better to have multiple testimonials - not necessarily from an SEO perspective but just to show a wider reach. But you can go to https://support.google.com/webmaster...er/66359?hl=en and read about duplicate content. In this case, you're not trying to be deceptive and are using content that is often duplicated on multiple pages.

I don't think bolding keywords makes a difference anymore. I would bold them if it made sense in terms of writing for the audience, but not because of SEO.

As for the title, I would not put Yoga into the title twice. Again, not needed and possibly overoptimizing on that word.

I'd put the keyword first. Maybe it helps with SEO. But it definitely helps with getting the attention of the person searching. And with that in mind, just using "Yoga London" is not very compelling either. You don't have to use the exact keyword every single time and this is an example of when you might not want to. Try using something a little more reader-friendly. London's Finest Yoga Studio | MDS. Something like that.

Great thanks a million for that! If I write an article and I submit it to enzine articles, can I submit the same article to 50 other article website or do I have to write an individual article for each article website?

If I can submit the same article to other sites, will these count as seperate backlinks?

Vary your keywords for each of the photos if you have more than one keyword or leave blank.

Also, not really a good idea to openly discuss your niche...Not in your own best interest...

If it's strictly a testimonial page then you might want to no-index it, if it's on your service page then you should just split it up and use 1, 2 or 3 on each page..

Image optimization is essential but it's only a part of the SEO.You have to put the keyword in alt tag.But if you give the keyword in all alt tag that may cause keyword stuffing. So try to give meaningful and targeted keyword alt tags.

if you are optimizing your local Business than you need your business NAP correct on all the places like GP, all Citations, on website and on KML map submission. also do article submission, social bookmarking, comments directory submissions etc to boost your ranking but don't do it all in one day spread it on week or month target. doing all at once can cause sandbox your ranking.
