Hi there,

I have a very basic question. Is there a tool out there that will allow me to ascertain what position a page of my website is ranking on the Search Engines.

Hope that makes sense.

      Are you implying that the tools used for checking a site's rankings on may adversely affect the rankings themselves? Why could that be the case?

      I'm not convinced this is true. If it is start looking up the competition's ranking!

      So if you search 'Internet Business Promotor' you won't find a link to IBP who specialise in this form of software???????????? I don't think so. And they've been on Google for years. The ONLY form of seo tools that get barred by Google are searches that use cloaking devises. And 'sites' that use this - should surely read 'browsers' that use software to track sites ratings - that too is not the case. Most SEO Companies use IBP or other similar to tell potential clients who rate above them for keywords/ anchor text.

    In my opinion, IBP is a great software for ranking checks ... however if u are looking for a free tool , Google for "SERP PageRank Checker" , you should find a "allno1" web-based tool that you can use. Hope this is useful !

    Google will ban your IP if you check the rank too often. So don't try to get the PR for 1000 of domains in one second. Don't!

      At worst they will rate limit you by making you fill out captchas. But yes, it does help to use a tool that support TOR or some kind of proxy system.

        I see the captcha quite often lol.

        And I've had my PR icon on the toolbar disabled many times, it comes back after an hour or so though.
