Check the history of a domain before you buy it!

Somehow people are still in love with keyword rich domains while it makes zero sense, but if you do you have to be extremely careful.

Thing is that most of the popular and even the less popular kw rich or EMD domains often have a pretty bad history.

I fall for that trap as well very recently, I offer those guaranteed income sites and the buyer purchases the domain and I didn't look closely.

Turns out the domain had 1 drop, 11 whois changes and 7 IP changes in only 1 year and 3 months time. How sketchy is that?

Result: site is build and didn't even show up in the top 500 naturally for very long phrases, after building 60 high PR links the site ranks at page 25 and beyond, in comparison, I did the link building for another extreme similar site at the exact same time (2 weeks ago that is) and the other one now ranks at page two and three for most of the keywords, exactly as expected and obvious keeps on climbing.

In other words now we have to move the site to a new domain and re-start the link building. Lot of time, money and effort wasted due to such silly "little" mistake of picking up someone elses garbage.
