If you don't know how to read html code, you can use a Firefox plugin like SEO Qauke

I think it draws a line through no-follow links on a page its looking at.

      Hi,

Generally the SEO person are asking about No follow and Do follow. I just want to tell you 1 thing that did you analyze ever that no follow links are also valuable for a site ?
Yes its truth you know we should to try to get high PR do follow back link but if we consider same quality means High PR no follow links then it'll be also beneficial for us. Now a days there are lots of free tools through which we can check no follow or do follow link. On web maximum free link sites are no follow but search and try to get high PR quality back link, both no follow and do follow are beneficial for a site.

With Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome, you can manually check dofollow / nofollow through "view page source".

You cannot check for dofollow because there is no such thing.

Just because a link does not have nofollow with it, in no
way, shape, or form, means google will ever see it, let
      alone count it.

So if by dofollow, people somehow mean a link that does
not have nofollow, then why come up with a nonsense word
that makes no sense in the SEO world?

Sure. It's a pet peeve. But if people start talking about dofollow
as if it means something, then they are clueless and probably
spend time on the weekends squatchin'. (dofollow'n?)

Well said Moneymaker, its the best way to check the link either it is dofollow or nofollow. And you can also use some plugins in firefox or mozilla (Fire bug). Just right click on the link and select inspect element, it will show you the html of that link and if you found rel="nofollow" with the url then it means its nofollow link otherwise its a dofollow link.

Yes! it is possible and easy too. By installing Add-on in the tool bar. Most of the tool bar has ability to read the source of the website. This will highlight the Nofollow links in red and Dofollow links in green.

    Hello All,

Well there is lots of free tools through which we can check the no follow and do follow links. I know that do follow links is to much beneficial for a site in comparison of no follow links but its a truth that we should to do submissions on both types of link sites I mean no follow and do follow. In both cases we should to mind the quality of link or site like high PR, DA, unique content, thematic e.t.c. Never compermise with quality

A site can have all its links nofollowed, or just some, or none - it depends.
For example, if it's a blog, links in blog posts may be dofollow, while links in comments may be nofollow.

A nofollow link is a link that has rel="nofollow" attribute. A link that lacks such an attribute is called dofollow, although technically there is no such thing as a dofollow link.

To check which links on a site are nofollow, and which are dofollow, you can either view the code of the page, or use a browser plugin.

There are multiple ways to view a page's source code - 4 Ways to View Source Code - wikiHow
What you'd be looking for is which links have rel="nofollow" within the <a href = " "> </a> tag
Just click Ctrl+F and search for either the link's anchor text or "nofollow"

As an alternative, you can use SEOquake (a browser extension) already mentioned here. It'll put lines through any links that are nofollow.

You can check them how you like, but important is a ratio of follow to nofollow.

Sites that are ranked TOP3 usually have 40-70%/60-30% dofollow/nofllow (Well, more or less...). Sure, there are top ranking sites with 99% dofollow, but better keep at least 30% of nofollow.

As a piggyback to what some others have said, while nofollow links do not pass link juice, they can still be very valuable to your site. Especially if it is an authoritative, niche relevant link.

It can provide a quality link and help your backlink profile look more natural. So while you use one of the tools above to find good follow links, don't hesitate to drop a quality nofollow link in there as well.

And if the linking site gets enough traffic, the nofollow link can provide direct traffic to your site as well.
