I am getting extremely fed up with AdWords

How you turn it, i always, always read about how PPC (specifically AdWords) is STILL the #1 source for people to make money.

So, i started with CPA recently (after doing clickbank for years already) and of course i am trying a lot a of offers, and i am trying to use search network AND content network.

I uploaded a bunch of banners for some offers on CONTENT network about 4 days ago..and i dont get ANY impression, the ads are still inactive and waiting to start to run.

Then i made some more placement groups on adwords content network, this time a competitive niche "weight loss" where i wrote some text-ads, promoting some offers. (The text ads usually start getting impressions right away, as opposed to the banners)
I bid EU0.51 (which is WAY too high anyway for CPA)....but just see that overnight i BARELY got 192 impressions. This with a EU0.51 on content network. WHAT THE HELL?

I made another adgroup where i promote free gift cards on placements like popular sites, social networking sites, things like that. My bid on content for this offer is EU 0.24.

I have not had ONE impression. How is this possible? Why dont i get ONE single impression for some offer where i bid $0.24 for the text ad?

I am really getting pissed off since there is no way to SELL if my ads dont show or i need to pay $0.80++++ just for them to appear?


EXAMPLE:

I have an offer for screensavers which is supposed to show on BIG sites like myspace. According to my stats from today with my bid....the ad is on avg. on pos 4.3

So..the ad is showing, and it seems to be on a good avg. position. But its supposed to run on a whole number of extreme high traffic sites with 500k+ pages views.....but then why am i only getting 193 impressions over night?

Where can i tweak?

What is a good number of sites to chose for placement targeting? I dont have any control for the ads on content network..i dont know whether my ad shows on WHAT sites. Do the ads show on myspace, youtube...or dont they? How do i know? They must show somewhere, otherwise i wouldnt have gotten 193 impressions.

    I'm guessing you are not paying enough. That's why your ads don't show on the content network. Given the competitive niches you mentioned, I'm not surprised they don't if you bid EU0.51. You won't like my answer but try more in the 2-3 Euro range although increase gradually starting with 1-1.5 Euro.

    It's not the number that matters. It's the type of sites that would trigger a response to your offer.

    Actually, you do. Stop your campaign, take a step back and study. What you should do is create a separate content network campaign only where you target only the sites you want to appear on. You also can find out where your ads have been showing, although with so few impressions, that information won't be of much help.

    You don't mention how your search campaign is doing.

    i am focusing on CPA/leads right now with simple email submits where a $1+ bid is 100% and totally out of the question .) I only get $1.10 per ZIP submit/conversion!

    Anyway..i just found a good one for only pennies, i pray that it stays that way.

    I am still puzzled since i would expect an ad for $0.50 to show on CONTENT.
