Sadly Google do this all the time. There was probably a minor and unintentional infraction of some new policy on your part. Zero tolerance is zero tolerance. As far as they're concerned a minor error counts the same a major fraud. There's nothing you can do about it either, as they won't discuss it with you. You'll just get a wall of silence.

Was your traffic social media? Google doesn't like that traffic too much. Maybe that's why you were banned.

I'd have to guess you were clickbombed.

If I could generate those kind of numbers, I'd set up a corporation or LLC and use a virtual office for the address.

In the USA it would cost about $500 and take a couple of days or a week at the most to set up.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

I thought Google likes social media? Don't sites who have a lot of facebook likes and traffic get higher ranking and authority? im confused here

You said it - pinterest. A lot of accounts got banned recently cause of that pinterest (or social media sites) is only traffic source.

Unfortunate as it is there is no going back when you are banned from adsense. You will never know what silly policy you violated, just the automated email you get, when you try to contact them

This is sad, I remember my website made lots of money in one day from adsense, there was a huge traffic search that my page came up for on google news. a few days after I earned a record high money my traffic dropped. I have never been able to recover now I only make a few cents a day and if im lucky maybe a few dollars.

Someone said that if you get reported by a competitor in your niche for being spam even if your site isn't that google outsourced employee will just penalize you believing the report, because it takes too long to do a through check they have millions of website reports.

Google will never tell you whats wrong or how to correct anything. Thats why its hard to recover.

Google seems to have a policy of, if you are managing to be successful using their services, shut em down before they really make it good.

Just create a new entity with a new address and start up again. But learn from your mistake so you don't get the new account shut down too.

Goes to show you what I know, I thought Google liked social links.

Bottom line for your situation is - Google can do whatever it wants to and doesn't give you options for reinstatement, so far as I know. Hope they didn't owe you much money.

Time to start over under a different account (with different traffic), or move to a different ad server.

It sucks that you lost it but don't let it stop you making any necessary changes and monetizing. Sometimes, our biggest losses can inspire our greatest successes.

They probably owed him a couple thousand, he said he was making 20-25 thousand a month from pintrest traffic alone.

I hope he saved up that money. Its messed up that they would ban him without warning. I thought google will just discount invalid clicks at the end of the month? only thing I am thinking is maybe he was clicking his own ads?

Could it be google doesn't like social media traffic because that traffic doesn't convert well for the advertisers?

We've seen a lot of threads here complaining that pinterest sends traffic but not buyers...why would it be different for adsense?

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

thats messed up to ban him for pinterest traffic, what is scary though is I read about Facebook users who click bomb ads because they dont agree with that article opinion. This is why I think having a facebook for your site can be dangerous, organic traffic is the best but its hard to gain organic search traffic now, since google only puts the big sites on front page for keywords.

If anything they could just estimate it lower for invalid clicks, this is why it seems strange google would just ban him, maybe he was click bombed or he clicked his own ads?

I agree there may be more to the story. But I also think google dislikes it when the majority of your traffic is social media sites because it's untargeted traffic.

The goal of advertisers isn't just to show ads - it's to show those ads on sites where people have an interest in the product advertised.

Let's be clear: if pretty much all you are getting is social media traffic, YOU ARE TOAST.

You should be using Chitika or something else.

I just had a site get 99% social media traffic for two days.

              What did I do?

              1) I sent a report to Google indicating my concern that I may have some invalid clicks (which turns out I think is NOT the case).

              2) I removed the ads.

Google thinks untargeted traffic is bad for advertisers (which is not really true, but oh well).

Just my 2 cents BUT - You should have diversified your traffic...

Some social media is okay but " I believe... " Google likes to see organic search visitors as your main traffic sources from Google, Bing, yahoo etc.. I use a 70 - 30 traffic implementation when comes to my AdSense sites/ pages. 70 percent search traffic and 30 percent from social sites like FB, Slideshare, Youtube etc..

I DONT THINK THATS WHY YOUR ACCOUNT GOT BANNED THOUGH... Like someone mentioned above, you may have broken one of the google adsense publishing policies.. :/
