Starting a blog (high paying niche)

Hey,
I am starting my very first blog in high paying niche, the competition is tough but I have a way out. Now my question is, what factors would determine that my blog is really based on that niche? for ex, if I start posting related articles and add that high paying keyword in my meta tags and tags on each post. Is that all I need to do or there is something else I must do so that google considers my blog in that particular niche?

Sorry I am a newbie

    Hey there Zane,

    With the very limited information that you've shared here's what I'd say;

First off, you want your domain name to match the topic of the blog with your main keyword if at all possible.

As an example; the weight loss niche may go something like this...

simpleweightlosssecrets.com (the .net is available BTW and is Super HOT!)
Your tagline may be: Get my hot little report that exposes these 5 Simple Weight Loss Secrets Free

The articles that post onsite should be related to both your main keyword as well as related keywords. You should link them to your home page and interlinking any articles that are related to each other is good as well.

But to really make google jump all over your site and consider it of value you need to get your content syndicated on high ranking sites and have those sites linking to your site. And even more powerful is lots of interaction, like people leaving comments and sharing your posts on social platforms etc.

It won't happen overnight, especially if it's a very competitive niche but with hard work and determination you can use these tips and create a successful and profitable niche site.

    Hope this helps.
    Make it a great day,
    Joe

If you are looking to play the SEO game you must think beyond tags and keywords. You must think of posting relevant content on other high quality sites on a consistent basis linking back to your site. You must keep your site up to date regularly and have unique content written in order to be taken seriously by the search engines.

    Good luck

Should the links on the guest posts go to your main URL or its posts/pages? (or mix?)

I don't know what your "way out" is but tackling a "tough" niche with your limited knowledge will make it difficult for you to outrank the competition...

If you are after specifically 1 keyword in a niche, then pay for the traffic!

If I walk into a niche market and want to be somebody, I determine the top 200 keywords. I write a blog targeting each keyword seperatly. That's right 200 Blog post. Not only do I now have direct keyword traffic, I have a bucket full of relevance.

      Hope that Helps!
