using website for backlinks

I have an old website that I was thinking of using to link to one that I'm currently working on. It gets almost no traffic but has pretty good page authority. The problem is the content of the 2 websites is not directly related. Would it be worth it to put up an article on a topic related to the website I'm currently working on and link out from there to my current website?

    If the article is naturally integrated to the website, there should be no problem.

    I will suggest you not to use such website for links to your blogs or website which have different content from your blog.
    let see if you have blog about internet marketing and you are linking it with medicals related content!!!
    can you imaging how much traffic will you get from such links!!

    It's not about getting traffic. It's to help with ranking.
