What is the best strategy to give your site some ummphuf to break into page 1 of Google from page 3 or 4? I've got my site listed on page 3 for a keyword and I'd really love to bring it up to page 1....would this take me just multiplying my efforts by 1000x?? continuous work on link building? What can I specifically do to help?

I already use Angela and Paul's Link Packets
I already use social bookmarking
I already have article marketing kinda in the works...

Best advise is to build some links that are great quality and relevant to your niche. Also make sure your on page seo is top standard like your Page Titles and Meta Description to make sure they include your keyword

What kind of competition are you going against? How long is the keyword you want to rank for?

The keyword I want to rank for is 4 words long, there are 175,000 results in Google....I'm #26.....my competition is a highly optimized page with sub links showing up in google and is PR 4....so I don't expect to take the #1 spot but the 2nd 3rd or even 4th spot look very doable.....

How well is your sites inner strucutre?

Are all related pages linked together?

It's been proven to shift your rankings, because in Google's eyes it's googd structure for the reader, I guess that is then calcualted into the Algorythm.

Make sure your site is properly optimised for SEO. Use the keyphrases you are targeting as headers, and also in any alt tags for pictures etc. Make sure the page title has the keyphrase in.

So, for example. If you were targeting the phrase 'reconditioned gearboxes', you'd have
    In the title:
    Code:
<title>Recondtioned Gearboxes By blah blah blah</title>
Have the phrase at the start of the title.

    Headings

    Code:
<h1>Recondtioned Gearboxes By blah blah blah</h1>
    Then in the image
    Code:
    <img src="/images/recondtionedgearbox1.jpg" alt = "Recondtioned Gearbox Picture">

The most important thing in this situation are:
    - check the backlinks of the top 3 position, not only the quantities but also the qualities of the backlinks they've got. Let's say the highest is having 100 backlicks with some PR6 and .edu or .gov backlinks
    - try to build your backlinks with better quantity and quality.
When that happen, I'm not surprise if your website will be in top 3 position.
    Just my two cents.
