Adsense-friendly Traffic Sources

Hi,

I've a site where I'm getting organic traffic, which is monetized using list building, affiliate links and Adsense ads.

I want to send paid traffic to this site to increase my earnings.

Since I have Adsense on the site, and Google is picky about traffic sources, I want to know what traffic sources would be safe to use.

For example, would Bing/Yahoo paid traffic be acceptable to Adsense? Social traffic (FB, StumbleUpon, etc)?

Paid links / banners on third party websites?

Of course, I would never do any incentivized traffic or junk traffic like PTC, traffic exchanges, etc.

I realize that one solution would be to just dump Adsense. Then I could send any traffic I please and not worry about it.

However, Adsense contributes about 30-40% of site revenues, so I would like to keep it.

Your advice is highly appreciated!

Best,
John

Social Media traffic and PPC traffic using only Adword and bing/yahoo ads would be safe for adsense . Don't try any other traffic like paid banner or link ,it may get your account ban

      Thanks for your reply!

Are you sure about Google not liking paid traffic from banners / links? I thought that was a pretty standard way to advertise online.

(I'm talking of me putting banners / links on other websites to drive traffic to my site....not the other way around.)

      Thanks!
      John

You should be OK using the services you had mention as long you don't use traffic exchanges or banner ads.

Traffic exchange is never a good option for adsense sites but what is the problem with banner ads?:confused:

That would be my question as well.

I just finished a couple of hours of reading through Adsense policies on traffic...they seem to be ok with legit traffic sources.

Google says Adsense publishers are welcome to use online advertising to drive traffic. They do ask us to adhere to their landing page quality guidelines.

            Quote:
The three main components of a high quality landing pages outlined in these guidelines are the following: relevant and original content, transparency, and site navigability.

On another page, they ask us to closely monitor incoming traffic and be alert to suspicious click activity, bot traffic, etc.
