Improving rankings using Facebook fan contributions

Hi all,

4 months ago I created an educational website, which is doing really well in Google rankings for most desired keywords. I've also built up a great number of Facebook fans, who are experts in their field. They very rarely interact, but if I hold competitions etc, there is a flurry of activity (which is to be expected).

I'm trying to improve Google rankings for a keyword, which is very lucrative, but I'm still lurking on page 3. I'm trying to think of a way to add content to the site for this keyword, using contributions from the to do something!

Has anyone had any experience getting Facebook fans to contribute something useful to a site?

Thanks,
J

if you just want to build links in facebook it won't help you...
in addition to facebook, try to build links on forums ,youtube and some of these sites...

but be careful about non-relevant content on their website...

Thanks seniorseo, but backlinks are not what I was after. I'm trying to get my Facebook fans to add content to my site and was wondering the best way to do this. I think I've already worked out how do this - by asking them to comment on my keyword, which I can create a page about.

I thought others may have used a clever method before, so I was looking for ideas.
