Relation between SEO & Google PR ?

Is there any relation between google PR and SEO? Do you believe that, SEO will be easy for high Google PR website?

    In my opinion only getting high PR its doesn't mean that you rank easily in SERPs. You get added traffic etc. PR is different thing and ranking and traffic is different. But this is also correct that PR is increases with the help of high quality backlinks. So their is a relation in between PR and SEO. But SEO is independant from PR, PR is dependent in SEO

    SEO has impact on PR but PR has less impact on SEO. A site with less or no PR can also rank higher on SERP, and high PR doesn't ensure higher SERP. So if you want to rank your website for specific keyword, then build quality backlinks and promote it on social networking sites. This will ensure higher SERP and also helps to attain high PR.

        PageRank is a relative metric that shows how (relatively) popular your website is compared to other interlinked sites in Google's index. Google uses the signal in its ranking algorithm, but it's only one of 200+ other metrics.

        Besides, Google doesn't disclose websites' current PR at all times, it only updates TBPR (toolbar PR) twice a year or so, and now even less frequently so.
        Page/domain PR is still an OK indication of success, but it doesn't guarantee high rankings.

    Are we still beating this dead horse.. Screw PR its a waste of effort thinking about it... Look at the DA and Trust Flow and the quality of links to a site.

      PR is is not a dead horse and is used by google. But, it's what google wanted
      IM scammers to stop doing: worrying about PR and shmoozing it.

      You can get high PR with zip SEO. You can do SEO with zip PR.

    Google PR is one way to determine how popular a site is based from the series of metrics that Google uses to rank sites by page rank. However, having a high PR site does not necessarily mean you'll get a good (or top) ranking in SERPs nor does it mean that you can get good traffic with it.

    Ranking in Google and getting traffic from Google is what SEO does. SEO can get a site (with low PR or no PR at all) ranked for its keywords and can also get traffic from SERPs.

    Like what others already pointed out here- PR is dependent with SEO. SEO can exist even w/o PR.

    Of course, we all get driven by PR factor of a webpage/link. It helps in getting quality observation from SE. It boosts value of a low PF webpage if it gets link from a higher pR site.

      Even if PageRank is not the best predictor, it is slightly correlated with Rankings: "How Well Does PageRank Correlate to Rankings? The short answer is - not very well, but not badly enough to suggest that Google`s statement above is entirely inaccurate. (Google's Statement was that: Pages that we believe are important Pages, receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the Search Results)".
