It could take years, or never happen. You've done all you can, so put it out of your mind. It's not an especially valuable link anyway; listed or not is not going to make or break any business.

What makes you think that this link is no longer valuable.

Depends on the category page. The one I'm able to submit my link to has PR2-3. A good link, but not that good.

What makes you think it is valuable? Real people don't use web directories and they're basically just huge lists of links. PR gained from a link is equal to PR of the linking page divided by the number of links -- a link from even a high PR directory page is going to be worth nothing after you divide it among so many links. It's still worth nothing even if you multiply it by the number of junk sites that mirror DMOZ. A waste of time to pursue IMO.

I see where you are coming form. Since Google stopped taking this directory it has lost some value but having a link is worth more than not having it. I have noticed that my sites listed in DMOZ have higher PR and SERPs than those that are not listed.

I got one site into DMOZ directory once...

I just pointed out all the broken sites in their sub-category and suggested a couple of new ones (including my site).

I was lucky enough and I got the link.

    DMOZ is practically dead dear.

    It is not worth it.

DMOZ is getting outdated and Google doesn't pay much attention to links that are coming from it.

I also resubmitted again. Country directory with all kind of BS links, so can't really say if they just consider mine not worthy or if there's nobody to update the directory.

You probably won't be able to see your websites in DMOZ soon... Or ever... They don't approve sites anymore according to many articles I had read online...

It was easier for me to just become an editor. I filled out an application for 5 days straight until they made me an editor and then I got my site listed.

I've had a couple of websites listed with them since 2006, an editor that I got to know listed my sites for me. I just checked, still there. However, I'm not quite sure what advantage having my sites listed gives me, there is absolutely no page rank on the page that my two sites are listed on. Or maybe it's just the fact that your website is listed gives you some kind of credibility, never really given much thought to be quite honest.

I personally dont care about dmoz listing. There are free programs that can download, all the listings in DMOZ category, download it and run it through other free programs that check for availiablity of a domain name. When you find one, go and register it. You can find these programs through search on Google.

Remember that Dmoz editors are volunteers so they're not necessarily logging in daily waiting for your site to show up in the list.

Make their job as easy as possible: drill down to the deepest possible relevant level, submit there, make sure that your description is editorial style (check the other listings if you're not sure).

    Then move on.

    You've done all you can.

And if your site is spammy or bulging with affiliate links (ordinary or disguised) then don't hold your breath.

Do you not realize that resubmitting a site is a really dumb thing to do. All it does is overwrite the previous submission, so you going to just move your site down to the bottom all over again with the new submission date!
